Asking Contacts to pull your Resume from the Pile

Hey Everyone,

I hope everyone is getting ready for another exciting, depressing, spirit-breaking full time recruiting cycle. When you're applying for OCR jobs, how can you use alumni contacts to at least get yourself a first interview? I obviously know that attending the events never hurt, but I want to feel like I didn't cold email everyone and their mother for nothing.

Sometimes you have to feel like you are "cold email(ing) everyone and their mother for nothing."

Unfortunately, people in this business are very busy and even though they may want to reach out and network but may be overwhelmed with work-related demands. The networking game for OCR is really about casting the widest net possible. Remember, it only takes one person to pull that resume!!
