Would it be recommended to take the GMAT without any plans to immediately go to business school?

My main selling point right now is that I plan to be certified in using the Bloomberg Terminal by the end of this school year.

Also, how did you land your first job with the "Cap-IQ"-like firm?

GMAT scores are good for 5 years. I took mine senior year with no real intention of going to BSchool. Couple of reasons.

  1. It's easier to study as a senior in college than it is to go into a career and find time to study.
  2. Figured it's look good on the good ol resume.
  3. You never know what the future holds, BSchool might become necessary at some point
