Background check: no contract in past experiences
Very lucky to have got an offer from a BB, but I'm worried because I have 1 experience which was unpaid and 2 in businesses where I know the owner (family friend). I never signed anything (nothing will appear using my social security nº) and, in the latter, all compensation was cash (no taxes paid).
Will this be an issue even if I can provide my employers details?
Will they give it much importance if I have a relevant internship (4th experience) for which I can provide a termination of employment form?
Wouldn’t worry too much about it. From your post I guess its smaller shops so the bank will know how these things go. Only if it was a major institution would that raise flags, as they would never take these type of risks.
If you old boss can confirm your employment then 0 issues. Only if you don’t want them contacted would I see trouble.
Thanks! They are small, local businesses completely unrelated to finance (only the paid internship is relevant). And yes, I have no problem with them being contacted (although it might be difficult to get the contact details of the unpaid experience).
