Barcap RSG group exit opportunities
Hi Guys,
I hav a summer internship opportunity with Barcap India in their RSG group (Risk Solutions Group). I will be joining in the Associate position (i.e. post-MBA from US). I want to know:
- What are the exite opportunitites from RSG..?
- Does RSG involve financial modelling...?
- Do all BB have RSG group..?
- Should I try for a normal product (eg. M&A, DCM, ECM group) or coverage group..?
- Can we later swith from the Mumbai office to NY, HK, SIngapore..?

Interview Tips - BarCap RSG? (Originally Posted: 09/13/2011)
Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster here.
Anyway, I've got an interview in 2 days with BarCap's Risk Solutions Group.
I've had a couple of ib interviews last year but I was severely underprepared. I feel more confident now but am still very nervous and don't know what to really expect.
I'm not going through a graduate program or anything, I actually spoke to an MD in another country over the phone through connections and he got me the interview in Sydney.
I'm stumped on what to expect, does anyone have any tips/advice on what to prepare?

What does RSG do exactly?
RSG is pretty much a sales job, part of IBD. I'm assuming working with clients to more tailor products to their needs

Is this for FX or Rates?
I don't know. Interview was from referral so not for a specific position
On the fx side it is basically covering corporate clients for spots, forwards, etc. They tend to spend a good amount of time talking to assistant treasurers etc. It is FX sales essentially.
