Barclays Off-Cycle vs Macquarie Full-time

Hi there,

I have a short question.

I have a full-time offer from Macquarie and an off-cycle internship offer from Barclays, both IBD. I would appreciate any advice in helping me choose. Thanks in advance.

Oil and Gas - do you mean oil & gas in Macquarie Capital's Resources team or energy transmission and storage in their Infrastructure team?

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

I'd choose infrastructure over resources at Macquarie US. I've got no view on Barclays.

Macquarie Capital Infrastructure has their funds group as a not quite captive client. Those funds are cashed up and active in North America. ie you get good deal flow you don't have to work too hard to win, vs wasting a lot of your life preparing pitch books and never doing real deal work, which is a common story at many IBs.
