becoming futures broker

Can anybody give overview of the upside and downside of becoming Futures broker for a big a Futures firm in Chicago. They do not offer salary and work is commission based. How long it will take to make at least minimal wages (pay for rent and car). how many accounts you will need? Where you will usually end. Is it possible to move to trading desk later?
