Best Product Groups / Recruiting

Hey folks,

I was wondering what the best groups are in terms of learning and exits. M&A is viewed as best but if you ended up in an industry team or  a generalist firm, how would having IPO / RX experience be viewed by recruiters for say Growth/PE/VC and how good is it in terms of personal learning ?

And say you’re in an industry team and close 2-3 IPOs but no M&A deals would it be the end of the world from a buy side recruiting perspective ?

Thanks !
