Boutique vs. Structured Internship
I’ve gotten good feedback from alumni and connections at boutique IB’s. They’ve offered that they can take me on and have work for me to do, but they have also said to target more structured programs at larger firms (all non-IB firms) and if I strike out with these larger programs to each back out in Feb-March. I personally have had little success with these structured programs as almost all sophomore programs are diversity focused. How are boutique, non-formal, internships viewed for SA recruiting compared to formal-non IB internship? I personally would rather work at one of these boutique IB’s than at a non-IB firm, but would choose whichever is better for SA recruiting.
