Can I leave 6 months in?

I need some advice. I have the opportunity to leave my current role as a credit analyst at a commercial bank to join a boutique AM firm focused on debt. The only problem is that I've only been working in my current role for 6 months. I like my current job, but I think that jumping to AM would benefit my career trajectory and provide better opportunities when it comes time for B-School. I also don't plan on being a career commercial banker so I will likely leave in 2-3 years regardless.
Is it bad to leave so early if I'm clearly leaving for a better job? I feel like that would be relatively easy to explain to future employers but I could be wrong. I also realize that if I do take this job I would pretty much have to stay for at least 2 years no matter what. Again, I like my current job so there is a level of risk that if I don't like my new role I would be stuck.
Any opinions or advice would be much appreciated.

Absolutely not it’s your life do what you feel is best for your career and life. Never feel bad for the company. That said, as long as you plan on staying in this new industry then 6 months in a job won’t be a problem, you have a story.

What would be your role at the boutique AM shop? What kind of debt shop, investment grade, high yield, direct lending, mezz? Sounds like a good opportunity nonetheless
My title would be Financial Analyst but I would basically be involved in underwriting. They specialize in private credit.
Leaving after 6 months won't be an issue if you stay at your next job for the 2+ years you mentioned (especially at the beginning of your career). If it's what you want to do I would go for it. Should be very easy to explain your rationale behind the change.
