Can you round a 3.98 GPA to a 4.0?
Are you able to round a 3.98 GPA to a 4.0? Junior summer recruiting is going to be kicking off next semester so I was wondering if I am able to round my 3.98 GPA to a 4.0 for the recruiting cycle? In theory, it is similar to rounding a 3.49 to a 3.5 but it feels wrong to apply the same logic in this case so wanted to hear some thoughts.
Chimp, use your common sense. You're welcome!
Well, 4.0 implies a perfect gpa, meaning all A’s, which is not the case if you have a 3.98. I have a 3.99 and I just keep as such.
.
Valid to say a 2.98 is a 3.0, not valid to say a 3.98 is a 4.0
You probably could. No ones ever gonna question you on it. But I’ve heard 3.98 looks better on your resume than 4.0. Regardless, all else considered, this should be extremely trivial.
Why is that? (3.98 better than 4.0)
4.0 implies a certain level of anal retentiveness whereas 3.98 is like I'm just naturally smart and don't particularly care about being perfect
I've always rounded my 3.645-> 3.65-> 3.7 on my resume. This is banking, sell yourself!
Why stop there? 3.7 rounds up to 4.0
You're right. I will show a 4 on my HBS application!
I wouldn’t, yeah it’s marginal but 4.0 implies a flat perfection - it’s not the same going from 3.75>3.8 or 3.56 -> 3.6. 3.98 is impressive enough there’s no reason to round here
Agree 100%. Put 3.98.
How do you have a 3.98 GPA when you’re asking a question like this srs
Can you round 2 inches into 6?
Magni maxime animi voluptate in temporibus. Nostrum sint eum non.
