Career Advice - Assistant Branch Manager Opportunity

Background: I'm 27 and reside in Houston, Tx. Iwork for Chase on the retail side and have a bs part time job. I earn about 30k-32k a year. I am a finance major and expect to graduate Summer 2011.

Problem: I have an opportunity to apply for the Assistant Branch Manager position earning about 35k-40k plus bonus. Which is good for now, since I can do just one job. Ultimately I want to get into Asset Management/Treasury Services/corporate finance and those earn about 50k-70k. So the dilema is should I take the ABM position now or hold off for another 1-1.5 years to obtain an AM position?

Variable: If you obtain a new position within the company you have to stay for a year. I don't want to leave the company, but if I do it will be once I graduate if I can find more money elsewhere.

Any thoughts or advice on the career path will be beneficial. Thanks in Advance.
