Career Path Starting With Credit Analysis

Hey everyone, first time posting on here so sorry if i'm posting in the wrong section or something like that. Hopefully you guys can help me out. Me:

Undergraduate Degree in Business Economics From a mid level New York State University.
Currently going on 2 years accounting / analytical experience with a local energy company.
Just a Few months away from receiving my MBA from a local private college.

I honestly don't love accounting, but there's just not many jobs out there in my area that are better. I enjoy analyzing companies financial information. The stock market is also of great interest to me. I'm well aware i won't be getting a job in investment banking since i have no connections into the industry and didn't attend a prestigious university.

Recently, i've been thinking that after graduation (and i'm free to move from the area) that i will look for a job as a credit analyst in commercial banking, with hopes of maybe moving into corporate finance. Does this seem feasible? What are the exit opportunities for a credit analyst if i do go this route? Or is this more of a "dead-end" position? Any help is really appreciated, thanks.
