CC student - Career Paths?

I'm currently a freshman at a community college and want to go into finance. I am currently part of the finance committee, overseeing a budget of $160,000 and doing a business projections internship with a med-tech incubator this summer. I have a 4.0 and have good chances of getting into top schools for my junior year. I was looking for advice for how to go about obtaining internships, networking, etc in regards to being at a cc freshman and sophomore years. I want to pursue something along the lines of buy-side ER, Investment Management, Portfolio Management. Any advice of career path and what internships and jobs to look for in regards to this?

I took this path. I can only really speak to investment banking: you have to recruit your sophomore year while you are still in CC and might not even have admission to a four year yet. I would get a finance internship for this summer ASAP and recruit as you normally would. when the topic of school comes up you don't have to tell people you are at community college, just saw the name of your school "ABC college". getting an internship at a small shop is key to building your credibility if you don't go to a prestigious school and put your test scores on there if they're good. it's challenging but possible

How do you go about getting an internship like that while still at cc? Networking hard or cold emailing? I find it's a lot harder to do that while at a cc and having no alumni network.

cold email like crazy to regional shops, ask to have a conversation about their career instead of cold asking for a job. even if its at a small three person shop, it's experience that you can inflate a bit for when you interview for other places
