Citi Commercial Banking

Hey guys I have an interview with Citi Commercial banking coming up and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. Specifically, has anybody had this interview or know whether its going to be behavioral/technical?

I checked out Citi's site but theres not much information and I'm not sure which division is actual falls under. On their site, I think they put it under retail banking but on my school's OCR its listed as being under Global Capital Markets. I'm just trying to gauge what type of position it actually is( the description mostly talks about credit risk).

Thanks

This is clearly not an investment banking position. If you are evaluating credit risk for a commercial bank that sounds like you'd be working for their corporate loan department... at least its a front office job...

what school do you go to (if you don't mind answering)? Why don't commercial banks ever recruit from IB target schools?

I think this is a....gasp* consumer facing role in a bank branch! Oh the horror!!!

Most likely you become a credit analyst for lending and learn some relationship managing. The credit analysis (spreading financial statements, due diligence) is useful and a transferable skill.

I didn't interview with Citi but have with other commercial banks. Typically they have ~5 lending tracks you rank (real estate finance, trade finance, commercial banking etc). It will be fit, behavioral and resume driven questions. Why Citi? Why commercial banking? In my superdays i recieved some accounting/credit questions- which were about the links btwn the 3 statements and about what I'd look for when analyzing credit

I'm a sophomore at a target in NYC if that helps. I realize that it's not IB but I really wasn't expecting that from the description.

@Peaklapel

I have no idea whether you're being serious or just messing around haha

Not really looking for something amazing since I'm only a sophomore but was wondering whether its a decent position
