Citi IBD London - Groups

I've got an offer for a summer internship in IBD at Citi's London office and would like to know more about the groups over there. I'm interested by TMT or Energy groups and I have been told by Citi bankers that the TMT group is doing well (esp. Telecom Media) and has a good reputation. There's also a UK M&A team which might be interesting in terms of execution experience.

I'm not a big fan of FIG or Retail/Real estate/consumer groups and I haven't found much info looking at Thomson Reuters league tables. In 2009, Citi was 5th in Europe based on announced deal value with their Energy and Power group ranked 3rd.

What is the upside of going to an industry group vs the UK M&A team (contact with clients, exec/pitching, overall experience)?

Which groups have a good dealflow/experience/exit opps or well-know/good bankers in London?
