Cold emailing the hiring manager for an open position?

For context, I saw someone like/share a post by the Head of a Division on LinkedIn saying they're looking for an analyst.

It seems the general concensus is to avoid the simple apply online and send a cold email straight to the hiring manager. In a situation like this, is it more appropriate to send a cold email for an informational interview (although we both know what I'm after) or be more upfront with a cold email and bringing up the opportunity? Potentially both?

Bring up the opportunity, and say that you are interested and would like to know if he/she would have some time soon to talk more about it. Just be direct and cut to the chase, they don't want to have to read a long email. Make it as short as possible

Thanks for the guidance - I was wondering what your thoughts are on the following email (with no resume attached)?

Hi [Hiring Manager],

I hope this email finds you well.

By the way of introduction, my name is Blaharhar and I am a young professional at Firm with experience in xyz.

I am hoping to follow a career path that you have undergone, transitioning from real estate brokerage to buy-side investment management and came across your post on LinkedIn about the opportunity to join your team.

I wanted to reach out to you to see if you may have any availabilities for a chat - I'd love the opportunity to introduce myself and learn more about you and the team at [Insert Firm].

Best regards,

Blaharhar [Phone] [LinkedIn Profile]

That email sucks. tell them why and ask for the meeting. I lock down f500 executives weekly to waste an hour with me listening about my software via cold email.

Hi [Hiring Manager],

Hope you're doing well. I saw a post on LinkedIn saying you were looking for an analyst.

I believe I may be a good fit -- did you have time to talk Thursday at 3pm about the role?

Here's my LinkedIn: (optional, leave it out if you don't think it will help your chances)

Regards,

Mr. Blaharhar [Phone]
