Confirmed - WFS 2021 internship/full-time training will be virtual
As title says.
A little surprised they announced this early but ig it’s good since now people can make plans for the summer. Unfortunate that it’s virtual, but will other banks announce soon or have they already?

Not great to be honest. 50% of it was diversity and inclusion calls (I’m diversity), 25% was training from a vendor, 10% was working on a useless project that no one cares about and does not reflect at all the type of work the group does, and the rest was doing nothing. I am also not looking forward to the blind leading the blind with the incoming analysts that also had a virtual summer last year.
I heard almost everyone gets a FT offer? Is that the case for diversity hires?
Which vendor was the training through? Just curious

GS wants interns in person and recently sent out an email saying they expect an in-person component at least.
Sorry to hear this and honestly it sucks trying to learn and do everything over a screen. If there's one thing I've learned being crushed as a first year, make sure to overcommunicate with your team / staffer to ensure that you're on top of things. Better that they know what you're doing as opposed to it seeming like you're sitting on your ass (even if you are). Good luck!

Yeah, ig biggest upside is we save a lot on housing/new attire. I personally plan on staying in my University’s collegetown alongside friends.
They also said we are going to work on live deals so I don't think it's going to be anything like last year's. And also no bank is going to take away your relocation and the only banks in person are going to be GS and a couple of boutiques.
Hard to believe that we will be working on live deals.
