Could I still get a new analyst position in IB even though I am no longer fresh out of college?

So for a quick summary, I graduated Spring 2020, and I wasn't really looking at IB jobs, I was mostly trying for Consulting. I landed a job at a boutique consultancy with an interesting business model where we only serve retail banking clients and lenders. I am getting more and more interested in IB, and I know I could look for off-cycle opportunities. My question is, is it even worth it to try on-cycle for the positions usually given to new grads? I would like to IBD and get the experience that new FT hires out of school get, rather than join off-cycle (I'll try for it, I just wanted to know if I still should try for the on-cycle thing.)
