Covid-19 Impact and Recruiter Ghosting

Hi everyone

I had been interviewing for a VP position in Dallas within the compliance/back-end functions at Goldman. Went through a round of interview with 5 VPs back. Had 3 interviews with the MD and ED after the 5 VPs. Through this process the internal GS recruiter was responsive and no issues. But after the last interview have been completely ghosted, left on read and I looked into the GS career site and it states "Currently Not Being Considered".

I reached out to one of the ppl I interviewed who told me that there is a hiring freeze in GS.

Anyone have any idea what this means for my application - I have gotten different insights from: 1- It might be a freeze and they froze the position and thats why they are ghosting..... 2- They have put you on hold and maybe come back if they don't find anyone else better 3- The most likely one - they have rejected you after the final interview round.

Found this forum - hoping somebody here has a better or refined answer. Thanks in advance.

I see. I had mine last week (should be the final interview) and had been told that the hiring process would be longer than usual.

But then I found out the job ad no longer exist on GS careers website yesterday :( (guessing they r freezing the position ... sigh
