Structured Finance Credit Analyst small bank Munich

I have been interviewed by a small, niche, asset based lending bank (aircraft, real estate, renewables etc) in Munich. Problem is I know next to nothing about Munich and never lived or set foot in Germany, so not sure how much to ask for. How can I find salaries there? It is such a specific position I cant see anything in glassdoor.

Anyone working in Munich that wouldnt mind sharing some insights?

Regards,

Jaime

Servus Jaime,

I used to work/live in Munich but left.

- Beautiful city
- Lots of culture, unique quirks about it
- Bavaria is quite a nice place to be, high quality/standard of living
You can also search for jobs on stepstone, indeed, and look for similar salaries.

Munich is more expensive than the average German city, but not as much as London or NYC.
When you are there, make sure to try Kaiserschmarrn, it's Austrian but also popular in Bavaria.

Thanks Cyberpunk, much appreciated. What is Kaiserschmarn? Any ideas regarding banking salaries?

Kaiserschmarrn are sweet, scrambled pancakes. Very tasty.

I would look at the links posted above for salaries.

I have not worked in this role in Munich, but the range given here is between 65K and 80K base and in EUR. If you can, negotiate higher, of course. And always compare to other roles and the posted salaries there.
Salaries used to be very confidential, but in recent years they have been posted all over the web and databases.

Thanks buddy,

Ended up accepting the role. Hope it is all for good and I dont waste the salary increse in rent and taxes...
