Current Employment Contract States That I Cannot Sign Employment Contract With New Employer Even After My Termination?
Hello, just wanted to ask the forum whether this clause of my employment contract at current firm is normal and customary?
I have been working at a boutique IB and today received a verbal offer from a BB, to which I will say give them a call and accept the offer tomorrow.
One thing is that my current employment contract states that I cannot sign any employment contract with another firm until 1 month after my termination date.
1) Is this normal? Yes, I should not have signed the contract if I did not like a clause, but I was desperate for a job when my current firm gave me an offer....
2) Would the HR at BB accommodate this and wait for me for 1 month to sign a contract with them? Has any HR people on this forum seen this case before? If so, how did it work out?
