Dealership Finance

Are there any of you out there that have worked in a Dealer Finance group of commercial/ corporate banking?

A friend of mine threw my name in the ring for an analyst position with the dealership finance group of a BB commercial bank.

I am hoping to get some information from the forum regarding these groups. It seems like pretty much every major commercial bank has one of these groups and that it is a fairly fast paced market. However, I feel like this is a highly specialized group and may be limiting for someone early in their career.

Would an analyst position in a group like this be a good opportunity to get a BB name on the resume and larger, more complex deal experience, or would it be all those things but pigeon hole me into dealer finance for the remainder of my career (slight exaggeration, but you get the point).

Little background: 2nd year analyst in commercial banking mostly focused on manufacturing and industrials at a no-name bank in the midwest.

Fire away.
