That's a good reason... maybe it's because nobody is interested in these non-banking topics? Spamming your post in the improper forum isn't going to change that, and you're not likely going to get better advice targeting your question to an improper demographic.

You're just creating more work for the moderators.

Thanks Reco!

For summer, I am indifferent... but I just would like to be in NYC like maybe after a year or 2 out in HK. (I may also hate HK)

If you are still a sophomore.. go for CS HK.. get you work experience as well as travel experience..

If you are a junior, go Barclay NYC (I know Barclay is strong in UK.. not sure about NYC. but Bear is not doing so well).. have a better chance getting a good full time.

People in Asia think investors in Western country are more experienced and know more.

CS HK probably be harder to get you a full time in NY than working for Barclay NY.. IMO..

CS have a great operation in HK. I strongly disagree with xabaglione, having interned in HK will have nothing but a positive influence on your chances of securing a full-time position in NY.

As an aside, you will have much more fun in HK, going out after work, then you will ever have in NY ... trust me!

I had offers from both Asia (HK&SG) and NY and I had a difficult time deciding, so I reached out to a number of more experienced people. Everyone said, hands down and without hesitation, go to NY. I talked to one guy who transfered from HK to SG but he was really an exception. He said that it was extremely difficult to do and hardly and people are able to make the jump.
