Decoding headhunter behavior

I think we can all agree that headhunters are challenging to deal with; I’m trying to decode what’s going on with some I’m working with.

I have a few processes ongoing right now thankfully, current role is melting down a bit. Late stage in two. In one of them, the headhunter wants to hold my hand - updates after every interaction w the firm, coaching before big interview rounds (it’s a loooong process). In the other one, the gal I’m talking to basically cut me loose after the first round - conversations are going well with the firm but the HH is a total ghost, minimal feedback, no updates. Both name brand HH firms, one a boutique one a big shop.

Is this just stylistic, or is there anything I can infer around how the HH / firm sees my candidacy?

(These are all for mid-senior level laterals)
