Decoding MD-speak
An MD replied to my follow-up email telling me that they are "continuing to evaluate whether we will be hiring into our group - we will keep you posted as we learn more".
Is it possible that some groups have not decided whether they will hire at all by this time of year for 2010 FT Analyst positions?
From my experience in sending those types of emails, that comment can be translated in the following ways:
1) You are a good candidate but we will continue to look for better (keep you on the back burner) 2) Could literally mean that the group is still figuring out budgeting and staffing needs 3) Thanks for applying but dont hold your breathe
My guess is its a combination of 1 & 2.
