But I'm not being critical. I am going through the same process. BB application sites are a black hole and nobody from MM or boutique will reply to me. It's frustrating when it seems I'll get some feedback or at least an interview only to be passed over. I think I'm a decent candidate (not the best), but times are tough right now. I think you should try to contact alumni and see if you can at least come into their offices and speak with them (don't out right ask if they can get an internship, but say you are interested in IB and want to know how they got in, etc). It's my last ditch effort and maybe it'll work for you.
"History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme."
You should probably work on your interviewing skills if you could not get past the first round. I would just keep on emailing boutiques and try not to get too discouraged. Worst case scenario, you just end up getting a PWM internship for the summer. Good luck.
Mock interviews really help. I bombed the first two interviews of the recruiting season, practiced with my roommate and have gotten final interviews for my last three interviews.
