Are you in college?

What is your background?

Seeing it's for a BB I'd be less worried about a potential career in PWM. This is because if you were to work for an external asset manager, for example, all that counts is your book and how large the clients are (and obviously if you can bring these with you). However, at a BB (CS or UBS are good examples), private bankers tend to get their clients in 2 ways: 1) Either through personal relationships and the most common 2) The BB assigns the clients to your book and you manage them (very cold relationships, majority of the bankers who want to move to an asset manager fail because they can't move their clients with them).

Regardless of you having had finance experience, the industry is driven by relationships. Therefore I doubt he'll be very interested in your analytical skills, he may ask what your opinion is on the markets and where you think they're going but will be more focused on how you are as a person. As for IB, the transition will be hard. If you want to do IB, apply for IB internships. Plain and simple.
