Deloitte vs EY... cool office vs not so much
Curious for people's thoughts on an impending decision... Deloitte (BTA) vs EY (TAP-FSO). I like both firms a lot. I have come to know the Deloitte people more and we have gotten along really well. But here is the X-Factor: The Deloitte office is in a kinda nowhere city in the northeast. The EY office is NYC. Were locations equal I think I would choose Deloitte but how do I weigh the office location into the decision? Any additional insight into either role is great too or even just either firm at large. Thanks!
Do you want to live in NYC? If so go with New York, if not don't.
Right, I'd rather live in New York for pure enjoyment. But it's expensive, and I'm thinking I could potentially transfer offices within Deloitte a year or two in. Any thoughts?
I think role should be a lot more important than location..If both were in the same city, which would you take? You say Deloitte, so that is what I would go with.
Okay, that's kinda the logic I'm leaning towards. You don't think I should worry about getting stuck in a smaller office?
Deloitte or EY? (Originally Posted: 12/04/2014)
I have internship offers from Deloitte and EY for tax and Im not sure which to pick. EY would be FSO tax while Deloitte would be general tax. EY would be in times square which is a 1.5 hour commute for me while Deloitte would be in parsippany, which is about a 10 minute commute. I enjoyed the people at both and I really do enjoy the city but Im not sure if working in the city is worth the 3 hour daily commute. Any advice?
