Do any of you at UC Berkeley or UCLA ever cold email people from other UCs?
Just wondering how that would be viewed.

I go to a UC that's not a target, it's certainly welcomed
I go to Cal. Idk of anyone cold emailing other schools. Our alumni network seems to work at least in my experience

I don't think I've encountered a west coast shop with no UCLA/Anderson alumni but has an alumni from another UC that's not Berkeley.
Yeah I'm looking out east
It can be a good way to get info about fit/culture, but may be less effective for getting your resume pushed, at least in my experience from another system school.
