Do banks call your SA bank to verify return offer during FT recruiting?

Was wondering, for full-time recruiting, do banks that you interview with generally reach out to the bank that you interned at to verify whether you got the return offer or not? Not trying to lie and bs about this but was genuinely curious about the full-time recruiting process.

Thanks.

My bank has. Not formally "hi HR, did XYZ get a return offer" but IB is a really small world and usually people have connections in other groups and can get this information in a more casual way. For example someone will text someone they went to business school with, "hey, we are interviewing XYZ, did he do well for you guys?"

if you're in this situation there are enough diplomatic ways to say you didn't get an offer, not worth lying

Question, and apologies if this is stupid, but if the interviewer reaches out to that other VP saying you're interviewing with them doesnt that basically burn the SAs bridge at the firm the SA got a return from and so if the FT thing doesnt work out theyre kinda screwed?
