Do HR actually look at my resume?

HI I am currently a junior majoring in economics at a semi-target school. Because I could not get any internship through standard OCR process, I am vigorously looking for internship opportunities by going to F500 websites and applying there. The problem is that I have never got a response from any of the corporations that I have applied to. I thought at first that it was my resume's problem, but I asked my cousin(who works for BX) and told me that my resume is fine. So I am curious now, do those HR really look at my resume? or is there a more efficient way to reach out to them? I am looking forward to your responses!!

bleudevilsNot many companies look at resumes submitted online. You need to network.

This. I've heard again and again that pretty much all the resumes submitted online essentially go into a black hole. You'll need to network, find alumni from your school, find people who work with the firm on LinkedIn, etc.

Also, perhaps you can upload a copy of your resume (with all personal information removed, school names, etc), so that others on WSO can help further critique it/offer suggestions.

3.3 is low but it is not low enough where you can't get the job that you want. With that GPA you will have to network and work your ass off. I had a 3.3 and I was able to get into a very large oil company (OCR), although it wasn't a Banking type of position but most people who are in the same program as me have very high GPAs (3.6-4.0 range).

So with that being said, it is very much possible but as everyone else will tell you, you need to network like a beast.
