Do MDs bother with having a resume?
Just curious how lateraling works for MDs. Can’t imagine one would actually have a one page. resume maybe like a several page long CV with their deals. Or do the people trying to poach them just “know” all of their history?
They legally have to apply with a resume at some point I believe but yes a recruiter isn’t going to say “SIR we need a resume before head of IB calls you for 1st round”
There are more MDs than you think, so it isn’t like they are all “known” by recruiters. So yes, I have always seen MDs required to have some sort of resume, even if relatively straightforward. Senior recruiters almost always ask for this (and for more senior roles too).
The general rule is 1 page for every 10 years of experience.
