Do recruiters always read resume?

I have two years of experience as a Financial Analyst and a few internships. I applied for a Financial Analyst role with a 100 Fortune company

I was contacted by a recruiter at that company and a phone interview has been set up. The recruiter sent me the job description, and to my surprise, the position is not the one I applied to. I am assuming that I am simply being considered for other roles with the company.

I believe that I can still do the job, but I do not fit the profile as they prefer someone with an MBA, 3-5 years experience to work as an Internal Auditor.

I wonder if that recruiter even read my resume to realize that I possibly could not be a fit for this role, but would be a better fit for the role I actually applied to. How do I handle this situation? Do I call the recruiter to let her know before the phone interview, or do I just go ahead with my phone interview and see why she chose me?
