Does anyone know this JP MORGAN Group

Hi guys,

I was just wondering is anyone here familiar with the Investment Analytics and Consulting group at JP Morgan? Someone I know works in that group, and makes it sound like it is Front Office and has really good exit opps.

http://www.JPMorgan.com/tss/General/Investment_Analytics_and_Consulting/1159310892541

Is it considered M/O or F/O ? And is portfolio management one of the main Exit opps of that group?

Thanks for your input !

Middle/Back-office, it's a service that JPM provides to other asset managers to outsource their back- and middle-office functions. Pretty much anything under securities services will be middle/back, especially since prime/institutional brokerage isn't included in that vertical.

There have been many great comebacks throughout history. Jesus was dead but then came back as an all-powerful God-Zombie.

As many 'analysts' as there are on Wall Street, it's a rule of thumb that you want to stay the hell away from any group with the word 'analytics' in its name. Emphasis on the anal.

What about PAG (portfolio analytics group) at blackrock? I hear it's a good place to be.

Definitely an exception, but as a rule Solidarity's right-those types of groups are "cost centers" not front-office.

The job posted is a little bit tricky because it is a revenue-generator for JPM, but only because it's an outsourcing service for client's back/middle office analytics.
