Does my major in college matter if I want to go into private equity straight out of undergrad?

Does my college major matter if I want to go into private equity straight out of undergrad? I am a top 10 ivy freshman in Sept this year, and I am just wondering, cuz I am majoring in history, potentially double major in econ. So I was just wondering, is an econ major better and easier to get into private equity straight out of undergrad? thanks.

If out of undergrad, I would assume yes. Not much else to work with on your resume.
