Duke Student not getting SA 26 Interviews - Feeling Depressed

Hi everyone, I’m a non-diverse sophomore at Duke with a 3.97 GPA, 3 relevant internships, and leadership in the finance clubs on campus. I also begun networking in October and have had around ~90 calls across banks and the buyside.

The issue is that I have not gotten a single interview at any firm so far. Its really disheartening to see my peers with 3-4 interviews already while I can’t land a single one. I know it’s early but it feels like I’ll strike out, which is so depressing considering the amount of work I’ve put in, all I want is a chance to interview. Any advice or similar stories appreciated.

For NYC, only rx, diversity, JPM, and EVR M&A have started. You have plenty of time.

I'm in a sorta similar position (not from Duke but similar school) and am just continuing to network and grind. Not much else to do...

Oh yeah, I also networked with a Duke alum at one point who told me that he initially struck out, but a couple of months into his junior year, he received word from one of his contacts at BB that they had some extra spots. He is now at that bank and doing really well.

Hopefully, neither of us will be in this position, but I just constantly try to remind myself that it isn't over until it's over.

Hey man, at a similar target school rn and going thru the same thing. Wishing you the best, and we gonna get it!
