Dumb question, but I'm sure many of you feel the same

Hi everyone,

I had a goldman superday yesterday afternoon, and I'm starting to be kind of cynical since I didn't hear back the day of. I have offers at a bunch of other top places, and they called the day of the interviews. Is this a bad sign, or would they wait until Monday? Thanks

It is a bad sign, I'm having the same experience... especially for Goldman, because no one is going to turn them down. Therefore if you are not the first batch of people they call, your chances aren't good. But you got these other offers, so congrats....

Goldman's HR can be ridiculous. Last time, I had to call them to schedule to interview (with 3 hours' notice) even though my first interviewer told me that I aced the first round.

I was also told that if you put them under pressure, they're more likely to ding you. Urban legend maybe.

1st: It's quite true few people turn down Goldman because.. well, it's Goldman! But their HR may want to be sure about other considerations before calling

2nd: Not necessarily a bad sign: wait until Monday! I got an offer 2 days later! However, all my interviewers replied to my thank you notes quite quickly saying I was well suited for their division. So if you really feel you've aced the interviews + you've got positive feedback informally, just be a little more patient! I'd start to worry Tuesday night if I were you
