Employment Verification Check

Hey all,

Expecting a background check soon. One position on my resume was unpaid at a boutique and extremely informal so I did extend the employment dates to have more experience.

I think that the First Advantage background check at my current job didn't ask for this role as it doesn't show in "My Requests," and I got the job still.

I'm worried if I am asked to verify employment through providing a contact, what can I do? Or can I get away with clicking a box like "Do not contact this employer?" Perhaps saying because I'm negotiating with them for an offer? Provide a friend's contact number, pose as a current employee?

What are my possible options here if requested?

1. Just list the firm and pray.
2. Mark "do not contact."
3. Lie with a fake reference.
4. Ask firm to lie for me.

I am quite stressed about this, please advise.
