engineering vs finance internship (sophomore summer)

I'm a sophomore math major at a semi-target. I want to get an s&t internship at a BB or prop shop my junior year. Right now, I have two offers I'm looking into, one at an engineering-related firm and the other at a mid-market IB doing relational database IT stuff. In terms of the work, I am much more interested in the engineering-related firm. However, with respect to my future aspirations to do s&t, would it look better to work at a financially related company this summer even if the content of my work at said firm is unrelated to s&t?
