Executive Recommendation
Just curious what anyone's experience has been like with getting a personal recommendation from an executive in IBD. I had a meeting recently with one who offered to get me an interview and give a recommendation but I'm not sure how much weight this will carry after the first interview.
Any experience/stories about this would be appreciated. To give a little more information the meeting was set up through a connection of mine and I am qualified for the position although it will be extremely competitive.
Depends how hard they push for you... but honestly if you can't get an offer/make it on the shortlist for an offer after you're guaranteed a first round, maybe you need to find out what you could be doing better.
