Exit Opportunities from Ratings Agencies

I have seen a lot of discussion on this site about the exit opportunities from working at a CRA, the consensus seems to be CB, Credit Research, Treasury or a Credit Fund. I understand that exit opportunities are largely based on personal experience, but I was wondering if these exit opportunities are only available to those who work at one of the Big 3 CRAs (Moody's, Fitch, S&P). Would a jump to one of the aforementioned roles be available to someone who is not at one of the Big 3 CRAs? Some examples being AM Best and Kroll. I am heading into my senior year of undergrad and would appreciate any insight.
