Experience vs. brand name (on-cycle)
A current first year at an upper middle market bank, planning on doing on-cycle this year. Have really good deal experience (announced 5 deals) given how active the MM companies have been and very well prepared for PE interviews at this point. Understand that a MF would be an uphill battle, but would I still be able to get looks from UMM PE firms given my transaction experience? Would I have to really network to get those interviews?
