Following up on email reject

Hi monkeys.

I got passed over on this position that I was really good for. I ticked all the boxes and had the requisite experience for the role.

I really would like the position still. It was paid internship. So do you think its worthwhile to check if they would be willing to accommodate me in an unpaid role? I really would benefit from the experience.

Usually when it comes to paid positions, firms are more stringent so would it be worthwhile to ask?

If so, how shall I phrase the email?

was this for IB? If so, don't bother since you are right on the fact that usually paid firms are strict and not so lenient on taking on additional interns without unpaid. it's just that it doesn't make sense with having 1 paid and 1 unpaid intern, the paid structure is messed and does not comply very well with the structure.

No for a consultancy firm. They actually hired two people for paid positions but I thought they may be willing to extend an offer.
