Freaking the hell out

hey everyone,

junior here non-target SEC school (got a full-ride prestigious scholarship)

4.0 GPA, school portfolio management club, lots of EC involvement (student body treasurer, fraternity philanthropy chair, mentorship program for at-risk kids),

no internship experience (did a study abroad program at oxford this summer instead of one )

feeling extremely worried about any chances at a summer 2025 ib internship. been applying (submitted 25+) applications and have gotten a couple of rejects but haven’t heard back from a lot of places. started cold emailing boutiques, middle markets but haven’t had much success with it so far. i have started connecting a good bit on linkedin but just not too successful. been mainly going through and applying to new york based positions, going to work through and move onto other cities. i’m working on this as much as i can with other time commitments and school work.

any advice on what to do here? of course networking is huge but i know there’s not much time left for the cycle and i started later than i should have just because of other personal reasons and general time constraints

am i totally cooked? i’m also considering looking at doing a MSF after undergrad at a top program to build network and break in. don’t know what to do and any advice would be appreciated.

Also SEC kid here, check out Truist or BofA in ATL/CLT. Both tend to recruit relatively out of the SEC range. Definitely some more spots available but probably not for big ticket IB/M&A/Advisory types of roles as most of those have been interviewing/filled within the past few months.

Ik not exactly what you were hoping to hear but hope it helps

thanks man- def gonna check them out. i know NYC is very difficult esp for non target but was looking there for more personal reasons that i won’t say on this board haha.
