Freshman in college looking to bolster resume, should I start a club?

So I'm a freshman at the most non target of non targets, my plan is to no life this year and get a high gpa, get good experience, and transfer to something better. I was looking at the clubs my school offers and there is very little in the way of business and finance, they just have a little business club. However, they used to have a finance club, and the website mentions you can resurrect a club if you want. I want to start cold emailing asap but I really have nothing to offer. I have a lot of interesting non-finance attributes to myself, but I don't know how far that will get me.

So would it be worth the effort to start and manage a club while trying to get great grades? Or should I just start cold emailing now and making connections to try and get some kind of internship this summer?
