Freshman Internship- HS Senior

Hey all, I have been thinking a lot about getting an internship my freshman summer, and I am currently a senior in high school. It is my biggest short term goal. I know it’s a reach and often unnecessary, but I will most likely be going to a Big 10 non-target (unless my Big 10 semi-target coughs up more merit aid). I feel like getting experience as a freshman would make IB recruiting sophomore year way easier.

I just landed an interview at a local financial advisory firm for this summer (HS senior summer, May-July). I feel that I’ll get an offer to do some entry level financial research and/or accounting.

Im studying finance & business analytics next year (minor in accounting or mgmt consulting maybe), and will be a sophomore by credits by the end of freshman year. Goal is IB when I graduate. Guess I’m interested in what steps to take now, next year in college, and positions I could hope to do (corp fin, FP&A, etc? Maybe some IB programs possible?)

Interested heavily in energy, also tech and defense, would love to relocate (Chicago, Dallas/FW?).

Thanks.
