From Coding to Client Relationships

Five years out of College I've been focusing on developing a technical skillset - learned multiple coding languages, modeled cash flows, built back end fixed income databases, created black box fixed income pricing models and undertook numerous other quantitative intensive projects all the while sitting shackled to a desk.

As I've advanced in my young career I've become more interested in taking this analytical foundation and piviting to a Front Office role. Ultimately looking to build client relationships/devising client-based solutions somewhere in the capital markets space.

Has anoyone out there made a similar career move from crunching numbers to a client facing role? If so what route did you take to get there? What's your new career path? Do you reccomend taking a potential pay cut to work on getting licensed 7/66 or sitting for CFP/CFA?

I would love to understand how you made the transition from the data side to relationship management working asset managers, middle markets, wealth managers, financial advisors, etc.
