FT recruiting

I have been recruiting since last year, although I started late into the cycle around summer, thinking that I wanted to do consulting. I had a lot of interviews, at ~10 firms in research, IR, Consulting, Econ Consulting, BD roles at banks, and ~4 super days too but no offer. And I got rejected from the last interview I had given as well. I am from a target school, 3.68 GPA, mostly research background and no finance internship. I want to recruit FT for banking – anything within banking works. I am aiming to intern at MM/small PE shops over the summer to build resume since there are no openings left for a convertible offer.
How hard is FT recruiting? What should I do over the summer and how can I make sure to land an offer, I badly need an offer, I have been working and networking hard but nothing worked out + started relatively late. Can someone give success stories for FT without formal summer experience, how did you do it
