Getting a job at early stage tech startup in specific vertical

Hey all,

Wanted to see if anyone had thought with regards to pivoting into an early stage startup (talking Series A / B) from IB. Currently a 1st yr associate but would like to get out after my bonus due to the learning curve plateau and just motivation to go on and help build a business. I’d particularly like to go into a infrastructure / security SW startup just given I spend time in the space and have a good sense of it. Does anyone have any experience in making this relatively unique jump? I’m aware of the pros and (risky) cons but would love thoughts.

Some more pointed questions: - in interviews, what roles were you specifically looking at and how did you sell yourself? - any good forums to find relevant companies that are hiring? - what was the interview / networking process like?
