Ghosted by MD after given a verbal offer
Well, I was given a verbal offer by an MD for an IB Role.
However, he has been ghosting my emails whenever I ask about starting dates.
Bad thing - I have rejected 3-4 offers due to this.
Is that common?

Not common. You might’ve fucked up, but if only the MD gave you a verbal offer and not HR or anything, then i’m assuming it’s very informal or a small bank, so he can easily change his mind
For sure, I've not fucked up.
That firm is not that small to be honest - supposedly among the top 10 in its focus sector.
Yes, had 4 rounds of interviews - HR was not involved.
Very unprofessional behaviour from the MD.
Well at least you’ve gone through several rounds, so it seems like they have an actual process. How long has he been ghosting you for?
Also, you turned down 3-4 offers? Next time, wait until you get an offer letter before turning down something, or accept multiple and renege later. You never want to be empty handed. Always have a back up
Be persistent in reaching out to the MD. If that does not work (assuming you have no chance), maybe explain your case to HR to get some clarity. What the damage if you already have no offer?
Thanks for this advice mate. Will surely do so.
Never reject other offers/end other processes unless you have an offer in writing. Also learnt this the hard way
On a side note, funny name :D, SB’d!
